Elevate your dinner with these Parmesan Garlic Chicken Drumsticks! Drumsticks are baked and slathered with a garlicky, parmesan-y and herbaceous sauce!
Today’s post is an exciting one!!
One of my favorite food blogs to follow is Steamy Kitchen. Jaden Hair is a professional recipe developer, food photographer, cook book author and food columnist and much much more! I met her years ago at a food blogger conference and she’s just as sweet in person as she comes across on her blog.
It all started when I was making my meal plan/grocery list for the week and I was stuck! What to make tonight for dinner? Naturally I pulled up her blog and went recipe surfing. The first thing I clicked on was her wing recipe! I was like “Oh this is it”! My girls will love it and so will my husband. It was a win-win situation. So I finished up the list and dragged my oldest out the door for some& mommy-daughter grocery shopping and bonding time! Im sure she was thrilled 😉
I found almost everything on my list except for the chicken wings. I decided to buy drumsticks instead, problem solved. This is one of those meals you know is going to be yummy because it’s simple and smells amazing while it’s baking. I was honestly so impressed with the flavors in this recipe!
To Make These Parmesan Garlic Drumsticks You Will Need:
- chicken drumsticks
- fresh basil
- parmesan cheese
- garlic
- olive oil
- dried oregano
- dried rosemary
- ground cumin
- all-purpose season salt
- kosher salt
Now just pretend that there are two cloves of garlic chilling by that basil, mmmkay? The original recipe calls for wings, since I couldn’t find any thanks to all those Sunday shoppers, I substituted drumsticks which altered the cooking time a smidge.
Next time I may just try wings, or thighs, or who knows!? maybe a whole chicken!
Start by measuring and adding the cumin, oregano, salt and rosemary into a small bowl. Then stir to combine.
Next, line a large, rimmed metal baking sheet with foil, doing this will make for easy clean up. Then place the chicken drumstick onto the prepared pan.
Then, sprinkle on the seasoning mix and slide the chicken onto the middle rack of your preheated 425° oven.
Next, bake the chicken for about 40 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through. The skin should be nicely golden and crispy!
Meanwhile, measure out 3 tablespoon olive oil and pour it to a bowl. Then add in 2 tablespoons minced fresh basil, 2 cloves finely minced garlic, 1/2 teaspoon all seasoning salt and 1.4 cup grated fresh Parmesan cheese. Then stir to combine.
This mixture is going to be the sauce for the chicken and therefore adding a ton of flavor.
Next divide the sauce mixture by spooning the sauce evenly over the chicken.
Then using the back of a spoon, smooth out the sauce. Because the chicken just came out of the oven, allow it to rest a few minutes before serving.
I like to serve these Parmesan Garlic Chicken Drumsticks with roasted potatoes, a leafy green salad and sometimes pasta or grilled corn!
Enjoy! And if you give this Parmesan Garlic Chicken a try, let me know! Snap a photo and tag me on twitter or instagram!
