Salted Snickers Stuffed Dates are a better for you version of the classic candy bar. Dates are filled with creamy peanut butter and chopped salted peanuts, dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with fleur de sel. The dates lend the caramel flavor and sweetness that pairs perfectly with the chocolate and peanut butter. Yields 10 chocolate covered dates.
When I first heard about Snickers stuffed dates, I was skeptical. Whenever someone says a healthy treat taste “just like” the unhealthier one, I instantly raise an eyebrow. For example, don’t tell me cauliflower rice tastes just like regular rice, because that’s an absolute lie. I enjoy both, but you can’t fool me. So I needed to try these Snickers dates for myself.
So are Snickers Dates > than A Snickers Candy Bar?
Maybe?! I mean, let’s not get it twisted. These are not Snickers. BUT omg are they delicious! You get the milk chocolate and creamy peanut butter, peanuts for that needed texture and the date is perfectly sweet and gives these that caramel like flavor. I like to keep them in the freezer and eat them when they are slightly thawed. Just be mindful of your teeth as these are chewy. They definitely give me snickers vibes, and I have one every night after my workout. SO good!
If you love dates (and Snickers!), you are going to love these!
To Make These Snickers Dates You Will Need:
- medjool dates – Choose soft, fresh dates either with pits or without.
- peanut butter (creamy or chunky) – Or any other nut or seed butter.
- peanuts – Dry roasted and lightly salted. Can omit if using chunky peanut butter.
- chocolate chips – I like to use milk chocolate but dark chocolate would great too!
- coconut oil – Helps set the chocolate when chilled.
- toothpicks – Secures the dates and gives you something to hold when dipping and drizzling chocolate, keeping your fingers clean.
- fleur de sel – For a salty contrast. Or use finely chopped peanuts instead.
Slice each date along one side and remove the pit.
Repeat with the remaining dates.
Fill each date with about 1/2 teaspoon peanut butter or with a nut or seed butter of your choice.
Top with some chopped peanuts.
Then insert a toothpick.
Set aside and repeat with the remaining dates.
Next, in a bowl set over a pan of shallow simmering water, add 1 cup milk chocolate chips plus 1 generous teaspoon coconut oil.
Stir until melted.
Remove off of the heat and, using the toothpick to hold on to, dip the underneath of a peanut butter stuffed date.
Use a spoon to drizzle chocolate over top.
Gently but firmly tap on the side of the bowl to remove any excess chocolate.
Transfer to a small parchment lined rimmed metal pan. Use another toothpick to hold the date in place as you remove the original toothpick. Repeat with the remaining snickers stuffed dates.
Sprinkle with a pinch of flour de set or finely chopped peanuts.
Pop the pan into the fridge for 30 minutes to set the chocolate.
Now, prepare to fall in love!
How To Store Salted Snickers Stuffed Dates:

THANK YOU in advance for your support!
Delish! I agree that these don’t taste like a snickers bar however they DO taste amazing! I made a double batch and am so glad I did. I couldn’t find that specific salt but used a pink Himalayan flake salt (though regular Morton flake salt is what I usually use on my dark chocolate “healthier” treats and that seems like it would be fine as well). PS – Don’t be a ding dong like me and leave the toothpicks in while in the freezer. Not east to remove and some broke. Lesson learned. Follow directions 😉
