Simple and delicious, these spicy sesame noodles are easy and flavorful but with a spicy kick. Serve warm or cold, either way these noodles are so good!
I wanted to make those Saucy Pork Lettuce Wraps but I wasn’t sure what to serve with them. Rice seemed obvious, but I wanted something more. A side dish with a little more flavor. I stumbled upon a recipe for Sesame Noodles, but I couldn’t find some of the ingredients at my grocery store. I improvised with what I had and ended up with a yummy recipe! Feel free to play around and adjust the ingredients to your taste, omit the pepper flakes if you wish, add ginger – you get what I’m saying. That’s what is so fun about cooking, you can take a recipe and make it your own!
I love a good noodle recipe.
And these spicy sesame noodles fit the bill.
To Make These Spicy Sesame Noodles You will Need:
- thin pasta
- coconut oil
- sesame oil
- rice wine vinegar
- soy sauce
- granulated sugar
- garlic
- red pepper flakes
- green onions
Heat a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add about a tablespoon of olive oil and then add a pound of thin spaghetti noodles to the pot. Cook as directed on the package. Meanwhile…
Slice off the ends of three to four green onions.
Then slice them thin until you reach the tough darker green parts.
Next smash 3 garlic cloves and mince.
Add the minced garlic to a small mixing bowl.
To that, add a generous pinch of red pepper flakes.
Along with 2 tablespoons of white sugar.
Measure and pour in the 1/4 cup of soy sauce.
Then, measure out your 2 tablespoons of rice wine vinegar, 2 tablespoons sesame oil and 3 tablespoons of coconut oil.
Lastly add them to the small bowl as well.
Then give it a whisk until all ingredients are incorporated.
All of the coconut oil may not dissolve right away, but don’t worry once it hits the hot noodles it will. Set the sauce aside and get started on the noodles.
Once they are cooked drain the noodles, making sure to reserve about a tablespoon or two of the pasta water to add later.
Then add the sauce and little pasta water and toss. Keep tossing until every noodle is coated.
The starch in the pasta water will help the sauce stick to the noodles better.
Lastly, add the slice green onions and toss some more!
These may just look like brown noodles but they are so much more!
A perfect side for those Saucy Pork Lettuce Wraps! Or make it a main meal by adding some leftover chicken.

THANK YOU in advance for your support!
Somehow, seeing those noodles in the colander just makes me want to grab one and slurp it up. 🙂 That would be unladylike though, and then I would not get the full flavor of this dish, which sounds amazing because I adore anything with sesame.
Btw, just thought I would share that the word I just had to type to add a comment was 'vomette' which if I say it, sounds like a more flirty, feminine version of vomit. Which of course, has nothing to do with your post, but seemed funny nonetheless and I thought I would share it, lol! 🙂
Anything coconut sounds delish!
Amanda… too funny! Some of those words are rediculous… but 'vomette'?? LOL!
I actually made something very similar to this today! Yum. The addition of coconut though…Double yum.
That all looks delicious!

Any one of those words alone would get my attention! Your recipe looks like perfection. I stumbled it to share with others and so that I could find it later! Thanks!
Can't wait to try this. I don't even have to go out to buy anything!
I will definitely be trying these noodles! I can already taste the mouth-watering deliciousness:)
Sounds delicious! Is the white stuff coconut oil? I've never had coconut oil before, is it white/milky?
I made this the other day with slight modifications. I cut back on the coconut oil and sesame oil by a tablespoon, used angel hair pasta and added cooked shrimp. This was easy to make and simply delicious. My taste testers aka co-workers loved it too!! Definitely a "go to" recipe when I'm in a pinch on "what's for dinner".
This was delicious! My family just devoured it. I skipped the coconut oil and it was still great.
Hi there! I could have sworn I’ve been to this website before but after browsing through some of the post I realized it’s new to me.
