In this low-calorie Simple Lemon Tahini Dressing, creamy tahini is whisked with grated garlic, smoked paprika, lemon juice and olive oil. Whether a bountiful leafy green salad or roasted veggies, this Simple Lemon Tahini Dressing will elevate your meal. Creamy, luscious and full of flavor. Bonus you can make this dressing in minutes.
Since my first time making this lemon tahini dressing years ago, I’ve become a huge fan and make it about every other week.
Not only is it low in calories but it also has simple, healthy ingredients. This dressing is extremely versatile whether drizzled over grilled or roasted vegetables or on your favorite salad or buddha bowl. Furthermore you can adapt this little-to-no-fuss dressing with different spices and herbs. For example, you might remember my tahini caesar or asian sesame dressing.
The first time I made this, I drizzled it over turmeric roasted carrots and it was love at first bite. Since I make this all.the.time I decided to give this dressing it’s own post so you can easily find it.
To Make This Lemon Tahini Dressing You Will Need:
- tahini
- fresh garlic
- smoked paprika
- kosher salt (more or less to taste)
- olive oil
- lemon juice
- hot water
What Is Tahini?
Essentially, tahini is ground up hulled sesame seeds. Like peanut butter, natural oils release from the sesame seeds to create a luscious creamy spread that is used in dips like hummus or baba ghanoush, in dressings (like this one 😉 ) and even in baked goods, like brownies, granola or cookies.
In a small bowl or jar, add in the 2-1/2 tablespoons creamy tahini and use a microplane (or zester) to grate in 1/2 a clove of garlic, about 1/2 teaspoon or so.
Next add in a pinch of paprika, squeeze in the juice of 1/2 a lemon (about 2 tablespoons) and add in 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
Season with salt and pour in 2 to 3 tablespoons of hot water to thin the dressing to your preference.
Whisk to combine and you’re good to go!
I’m pretty certain you will love this light and creamy dressing. If you put your own spin on it and make it your own, I’d love to know how you decided to spice this lemon tahini dressing up.
