Ingredients

  • 1 cup Japanese mayonnaise (kewpie)
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup homemade or store-bought
  • 1 tablespoon granulated (white) sugar
  • 2 teaspoons unseasoned rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • teaspoons paprika
  • 1 to 4 tablespoons water (optional) for thinning sauce, if desired

Instructions

  • In a medium mixing bowl, measure and add the Japanese (kewpie) mayonnaise, ketchup, (unseasoned) rice vinegar, sugar, garlic powder and paprika.
  • Gently whisk until thoroughly combined. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour or until ready to use. Yum yum sauce tends to thicken up more in the fridge, so you might want to remove 30 minute prior to serving.

FOR A THINNER SAUCE:

  • If wanting a more drizzly yum yum sauce, consider thinning it out with 1 to 4 tablespoons of water.
